Mai 2017, à trois jours des élections présidentielles. La présidente Catherine Sauzet qui brigue un second mandat, ne décolère pas depuis que Salgado, l’ennemi public N°1, s’est évadé de sa prison, pourtant ultra sécurisée… Depuis, la cote de popularité de celle qui prône « le changement dans la continuité » baisse à vue d’œil et profite dans les mêmes proportions à son rival, Raoul Fallieri, amateur d’alcools forts et de Gérard Lenorman (nobody’s perfect…). Anodin ? Non ! Surtout depuis que le mode de scrutin a changé et que le gagnant des élections sera celui qui a le plus d’amis sur Facebook ! Ce premier tome d’une série qui en comptera trois (un par journée) annonce la couleur d’emblée. Alexandre Géraudie n’épargne personne à commencer par les politiques, mais il n’oublie pas non plus la pègre, les flics et encore moins les médias et Internet… Distribution générale !!! Ce premier jour avant le grand changement ressemble furieusement à notre société actuelle, mais, pour ne pas pleurer de toute cette médiocrité, l’auteur du « pain et des chats » se lâche à fond dans un humour dont l’ironie se dispute à l’absurde et à la parodie, et ça fait un bien fou !!! Delgado avec ses biceps à la Popeye et sa toute petit tête, flics arrivistes et trouillards, politiques aux dents qui rayent le plancher, médias manipulateurs suivis à la lettre par un troupeau d’électeurs bêlants, tout dans cet album en noir et blanc à l’esprit fanzine de la belle époque est diablement jouissif ! Et bons sang, on a bien besoin de cette dérision dans ce monde d’un cynisme sans fond … Alexandre, dans les deux prochains tomes, si tu pouvais le changer, en mieux… Merci !

Paris, fin des années 30. Maurice, réalisateur de films indépendants, rêve de réaliser le premier film de Kung-fu français…. Il n’a pas un rond mais a tout de même trouvé son équipe, prête à le suivre pour réaliser son rêve. Tous ont fui la dictature qui sévissait dans leur pays : Kazimir qui a fui la Pologne devient son producteur, Wei, chinois, son acteur principal, Katrina, russe, sa costumière, et Diego et Andréa, espagnols, ses seconds rôles. Wei, qui a reçu l’enseignement d’un maître Shaolin, se révèle exceptionnellement doué, mis à part qu’il n’arrive pas à contrôler le « unkungfu » qui consiste à maîtriser sa force … A chaque scène tournée, il envoie de bonnes pêches qui envoient ses partenaires au tapis ! Et ce n’est pas le moindre des problèmes de Maurice qui rame pour trouver un financement…Il va trouver une solution en arnaquant un banquier et le maire de Paris, dont la fille, chanteuse de jazz, rejoint l’équipe de tournage… Vont-ils réussir à mener l’aventure jusqu’au bout ? Daniel Selig rend avec « Unkungfu » un bel hommage au cinéma de genre avec un solide sens de l’humour et de la dérision. On lit sa BD comme on regarde un film noir, l’ambiance des années trente est parfaitement restituée, allégée par une galerie de personnages attachants comme Wei dont la force est une vraie calamité. Les situations et rebondissements rocambolesques font de la lecture de « Unkungfu » un très agréable moment de divertissement… Pas si léger qu’il n’en n’a l’air …
